Advancing Pancreatic Cancer Care Across the Diagnostic-to-Treatment Continuum – Portland, OR

This focused program will bring together leading voices in medical oncology, surgery, pathology, molecular diagnostics, genetics, translational science, and precision medicine for a multidisciplinary examination of the rapidly evolving landscape of pancreatic cancer.

The conference will be chaired by Jonathan R. Brody, PhD, Professor of Surgery, Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Surgery, and the Louis Gerlinger, Jr. and Beatrice Lee Gerlinger Surgical Chair at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Brody is a nationally recognized pancreatic cancer researcher whose work focuses on the molecular biology of pancreatic cancer, therapeutic resistance, novel treatment targets, and strategies for personalizing therapy for patients with pancreatic cancer.

Through expert-led presentations, interactive panel discussions, and clinically relevant education, the program will examine pancreatic cancer across the full diagnostic-to-treatment continuum – from early detection, pathology, hereditary risk assessment, and molecular characterization to multidisciplinary treatment selection, disease monitoring, and emerging therapeutic strategies.

Key areas of focus will include germline and somatic testing, KRAS and other actionable molecular alterations, BRCA1/2 and PALB2, DNA damage repair deficiency, liquid biopsy and ctDNA, measurable residual disease (MRD), and emerging biomarkers. The program will also explore evolving treatment approaches across resectable, borderline resectable, locally advanced, and metastatic pancreatic cancer, with attention to treatment sequencing, resistance, and appropriate integration of clinical trials.

Participants will gain practical perspectives on neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatment, systemic therapy, targeted therapies, multidisciplinary management, biomarker-guided treatment selection, and next-generation therapeutic approaches, while examining how advances in pancreatic cancer biology are creating new opportunities for more individualized care.
